Mary Gillgannon

I always say I grew up like the Bronte sisters, living in a world of nature, books and my imagination. My early years were spent telling myself stories as I played in the lush green realm of dairy farms, meadows and woods of the rural Midwest. We moved to a small town when I was ten, and I had much more of a social life, but my internal world was often more satisfying than the real one.

I later ended up in Wyoming and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in journalism. After several jobs in public relations and advertising, I finally found my niche working in a public library and writing in my spare time. My husband is a Wyoming native, and since living here allows him to indulge his passion for fishing, hunting and camping less than an hour from our house, we’re not likely to leave soon.

My passion is history and writing fiction and I’ve published thirteen historical romances. When I'm not working or writing, I enjoy reading, traveling, gardening and spending time with my family. I have two grown children but, alas, no grandchildren. I’m also kept busy catering to the needs of our very spoiled pets, four cats and a dog.
